Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo said the club has ended talks with Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez.
The Ligue 1 table toppers had earmarked Tevez as the ideal signing after their move for AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato fell through, but they have now given up on the Argentina international as well after no agreement could be reached.
“We have ended the negotiations for Tevez. At this point, there isn’t much movement in the market,” Leonardo told L’Equipe.
“There seemed to be an opportunity to sign him, and we studied it. However, in the end we couldn’t reach an agreement, despite our good offer.”
“We will not make any excessive offers, so we’ve ended talks. It’s over.”
Tevez has also been linked with Serie A giants Inter and AC Milan, and the latter in particular are still hopeful of luring the attacker to San Siro.
