Reports emanating from the UK suggest Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez has submitted a transfer request.
It is understood that British tabloid The News of the World will run with a story in Sunday’s edition revealing that the Argentine star is determined to leave the City of Manchester Stadium
The Telegraph and The Mail Online published stories on Saturday claiming Tevez – City’s leading scorer – has become disenchanted with several senior figures at the club, including chief executive Garry Cook and manager Roberto Mancini.
It is believed that Tevez handed in the written transfer request several days ago, before City’s 3-1 triumph at West Ham on Saturday that sent them second on the English Premier League table.
Tevez was missing in action at Upton Park due to suspension.
The news is sure to begin a race between Europe’s biggest clubs to land the star, while returning home to Argentina is a very realistic option for Tevez – with money not believed to be a factor.
The 26-year-old forward recently admitted he desperately misses his children, who live in Argentina, and also spoken about retiring from football.
Tevez is believed to have been considering his future for some time and could leave the club in the January transfer window.
He has scored 33 goals in 50 Premier League appearances for City since moving from fierce rivals Manchester United.
