The attacking superstars reportedly on Manchester United’s wishlist

Having to settle for what was a sluggish 0-0 draw away at Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, Manchester United find themselves in the midst of a recent blip.

Slipping 14 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, the Reds have recorded just three Premier League wins since briefly climbing to the top of the table back in January.

Now playing out three goalless stalemates on the bounce, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have gained some recent criticism for their issues in the final third.

Appearing almost solely reliant on talisman Bruno Fernandes, many expect United to reinforce their attacking options when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

So, we have taken a look at three superstar names who have been linked with a potential move to Old Trafford over the past week.

Erling Haaland – Borussia Dortmund

Only continuing to break records with Borussia Dortmund, it is no surprise that Erling Haaland will be topping many a wishlist when the window reopens this summer.

While the German outfit might have continued to show a string of inconsistencies this season, Europe’s budding superstar has quickly become one of world football’s hottest properties.

Touted as a future Ballon d’Or winner, Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola recently claimed there were only 10 clubs in the world that would be able to afford him, one of those being Manchester United.

Previously linked with a potential move to Old Trafford last year and reportedly on the radar of the likes of Real Madrid, the Dortmund ace has recorded a remarkable 43 goals in 45 games since moving to rural Germany.

With German outlet BILD claiming that Haaland has already ruled out a potential move to Chelsea this summer, it has been reported that 20-year-old would be open to a Premier League switch.

Jadon Sancho – Borussia Dortmund

While Haaland might be stealing a lot of the headlines in Germany this season, one of his strike partners is another starlet who appears to once again be on Manchester United’s radar.

Undoubtedly the story of last year’s summer transfer window, Jadon Sancho almost appeared destined for a move to Old Trafford at one point.

However, as the days passed and negotiations made no progress, the England international eventually stayed put in rural Germany and has once again been a standout performer with Dortmund.

Enjoying what has been undoubtedly his brightest run of the season so far, the former Manchester City starlet has now found the net in his last three appearances on the spin.

With it still believed that Sancho is keen on securing a Premier League return, the 20-year-old has also been breaking his own records in the Bundesliga this season.

Sancho became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to reach 50 assists in less than 100 games in last weekend’s 3-0 romp against Arminia Bielefeld.

Antoine Griezmann – Barcelona

While it might be no secret that Sancho is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s #1 target when the window reopens, reports coming out of Spain are suggesting that the United hierarchy do have a potential back-up plan.

In the midst of a string of high-profile issues behind the scenes, Barcelona are desperate to slash their wage bill and Spanish publication OKDiario have reported that Antoine Griezmann is on the chopping block.

Failing to hit the ground running after making the move to Catalonia when the Spanish giants paid his €120m buy-out clause back in July 2019, the World Cup-winner has just six La Liga goals to his name this season.

With it believed that Barcelona would accept a fee in the region of £51million for the former Real Sociedad starlet, this is also not the first time that Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

During Jose Mourinho’s tenure in Manchester, the 29-year-old has admitted that he was close to securing a lucrative Premier League switch.
