The battle of the Premier League bosses

Roberto-Mancini-Fights-David-MoyesLast night’s touchline handbags at dawn between David Moyes and Roberto Mancini got me thinking about the leagues bosses and who is the toughest.

With so many recent incidents between managers I thought it would be fun to suggest the idea of the feuding bosses getting into the boxing ring and fighting it out!

Bout 1 Sir Alex Ferguson vs Arsene Wenger

These two foes have been at it for the last fourteen years but recently the feud has calmed down. However if trouble does flare up again I’m sure Fergie would be the favourite for the fight. The fiery Scot is famous for his temper and dressing room hairdryer treatment when his side are struggling.

He also likes a drink or two and I can imagine him to be a mean drunk! Although he is getting on in age he’s made of good old fashioned Scottish granite. It seems that there’s something in the Scottish water, as so many Scottish bosses are now managing Premier League sides. You also don’t stay at the top for as long as Fergie has within being very thick skinned.

Arsene Wenger strikes me as the sort of man who would rather talk than fight. It’s strange because during his time at Arsenal they have picked up an amazing amount of red cards. He’s a wiry rather than solid guy. I would expect him to have some tricks up his sleeves and he wouldn’t give up without a fight, just like his Arsenal side this season in the title race.

Bout 2 Rafa Benitez vs Sam Allardyce

These two have been at it with a war of words in recent weeks about the styles of each other’s team. I have to say I really wouldn’t fancy Rafa the Red in this bout! Big Sam is a nickname that Allardyce richly deserves.

The Blackburn boss was a tough as nails centre-back in his playing days and has hasn’t lost his reputation for being tough as a boss either. Rafa seems to get himself worked up when he’s most under pressure and he’s certainly in trouble at the moment.

If the race for fourth was a boxing match Liverpool and Rafa would be on the ropes. If these two were to meet in the boxing ring there would be only one winner. The Liverpool boss may get one lucky blow in to go with his one Champions League trophy.

Bout 3 Sir Alex Ferguson vs Rafa Benitez

It seems Fergie and Rafa are at it again in their second bout of the night. With Rafa struggling with his mental state, Fergie would take advantage like he did in the title race last season. Fergie would do a Mohammed Ali and wind up his opponent so much before the bout that Rafa wouldn’t be able to function properly. Fergie for victory number two of the night!

Bout 4 David Moyes vs Roberto Mancini

Mancini seems to fancy his chances but one lucky push counts for nothing. I wouldn’t fancy the Italian against the steely eyed Scot. I’m sure his players have felt his wrath on many occasions and I wouldn’t like to bump into him in a dark alley with those scary eyes.

As a player he was a rough and tough centre-back who opposition strikers hated playing against. I don’t think Mancini would have fancied facing him on the pitch and I’m sure he wouldn’t like to come face to face with him again after his close encounter at Eastlands. It was a good job that Everton were winning at time or Mancini might have been on the receiving end of a Glasgow kiss!

We would like to know who our readers think would win the above bouts and remember it’s just a bit of fun!
