Clinging to what was a pulsating 3-2 victory in Sunday’s north London derby showdown against arch-rivals Tottenham, Arsenal are still battling it out in the chase to get their hands on a first Premier League crown since 2004.

While there might be continued speculation that the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Eddie Nketiah could be heading for the Emirates exit this summer, the Gunners are drawing up their potential incomings.

With it no secret that Mikel Arteta’s squad have a new number nine at the top of their summer wishlist, Arsenal are expected to have a small treasure chest at their disposal.

Ahead of what could be a blockbuster summer transfer window in the red half of north London, we have taken a look at some of the European superstars that have been linked with a move to the Gunners.

Joshua Zirkzee – Bologna

With Bologna only continuing on what has been a stunning Serie A fairytale this season, the Greyhounds find themselves sat firmly in the driving seat to claim a famous Champions League ticket in 2024.

With Thiago Motta’s high-flying squad continuing to receive a string of plaudits from across the continent, a huge part of their success has come thanks to their young attacking talisman.

Enjoying what has been a breakout campaign at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara this season, Joshua Zirkzee has notched 11 Serie A strikes and a further four assists throughout the 2023/24 campaign.

Quickly becoming regarded as one of European football’s hottest young prospects, the former Bayern Munich starlet is reportedly attracting a string of heavyweight interest ahead of the summer transfer window and it has been suggested that Manchester United are keen admirers.

However, with continued speculation that Arsenal have a new attacking option at the top of their summer wishlist, it has been reported that the Gunners have identified the Dutch international as a standout target.

Bruno Guimaraes – Newcastle

With it officially confirmed that Bruno Guimaraes’ £100million release clause will become active this summer, it is no secret that Newcastle’s midfield icon is a man in high demand.

Putting pen to paper on a new five-year contract extension at St. James’ Park back in October, the former Lyon ace has continued to impress and has become one of the Premier League’s hottest properties.

Playing a crucial role as the Magpies claimed a famous Premier League return last season, the 20-cap international has received plenty of reported interest from French heavyweights PSG over the past few months.

With it reported this week that Arsenal believe that they could force Newcastle to part ways with their midfield talisman for a fee in the region of £80million, the Gunners have identified Guimaraes as an ideal partner for Declan Rice.

Although the 26-year-old might have made it abundantly clear that he is enjoying his time under Eddie Howe and has no interest in forcing a move away from St. James’ Park, Arsenal are willing to test Newcastle’s financial issues.

Eberechi Eze – Crystal Palace

Watching Crystal Palace embark on what has been a real Premier League resurge since arriving at Selhurst Park back in February, the Eagles have quickly gained a reputation for their free-flowing approach under the former Eintracht Frankfurt boss.

Although the red-hot Jean-Philippe Mateta might have notched eight Premier League strikes over the past couple of months, Eberechi Eze finds his stock at a red-hot high.

Notching five top-flight strikes since opening the New Year, the former QPR starlet is now tipped as a potential contender to be part of Gareth Southgate’s EURO 24 squad this summer.

With it reported last week that the Eagles have placed a £60million price tag on the England international ahead of the summer window, it has been suggested that Eze is attracting plenty of heavyweight Premier League interest.

With speculation that Arsenal academy graduate Emile Smith-Rowe could be heading for the Emirates exit, Arteta is reportedly a huge admirer of the 25-year-old and they are weighing up what would be a blockbuster swoop ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
