With the Saudi government making it clear that they want their teams to remarkably feature in the Champions League over the next few years, it is no secret that they they are willing to shatter all financial records.
Watching European icons such as Neymar and Karim Benzema complete their own respective bank-breaking moves to the Middle East, the Premier League have also seen many of their biggest stars make the controversial switch.
With the likes of N’Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all now featuring in the Saudi Pro League, a host of Premier League stars are once again attracting plenty of blockbuster interest.
Although it might appear that Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah will be staying put at Anfield this summer, a number of English-based superstars could be tempted to cash in and join the latest batch heading to the Middle East.
Gabriel Jesus – Arsenal
With Arsenal firmly at the heart of a battle to get their hands on a first Premier League crown since 2004, many are expecting what could be another frantic summer behind the scenes in north London.
Although the likes of England international Declan Rice might have made an immediate impact after completing a £105million move from West Ham, all eyes are on who could be heading for the Emirates exit when the window reopens.
With it no secret that Mikel Arteta has a new striking superstar at the top of his summer wishlist, it has been suggested that the Gunners are already looking to cash in on Brazil international Gabriel Jesus.
Although the former Manchester City striker might have only arrived at the Emirates in July 2022 for a free in the region of £45million, Jesus has come under plenty of scrutiny.
Struggling to pin down a regular spot in Arteta’s starting XI this season and with German ace Kai Havertz impressing in a false nine role, Jesus has recorded just a quartet of Premier League goals in his 25 top-flight appearances.
With Arsenal reportedly open to allowing the 64-cap international to leave the Emirates this summer, The Express are suggesting that several Saudi-based clubs are planning what would be an audacious swoop.
Kyle Walker – Manchester City
Although former Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson might have endured a nightmare seven-month spell with Al-Ettifaq after completing a hugely controversial move last summer, it appears that another England international could be heading to Saudi Arabia.
Although Kyle Walker might have eventually stayed put at Manchester City last summer following interest from German giants Bayern Munich, the 33-year-old is once again linked with a move away from the Premier League champions.
With it suggested that the former Spurs full-back is keen on securing a move away from Manchester at the end of the season, The Daily Mail are reporting that Walker himself is open to a potential move to the Middle East.
Despite putting pen to paper on a contract extension with the Sky Blues until the summer of 2026, there has been suggestions that City would grant a potential permanent move if the Sheffield-born defender is intent on starting a new adventure away from the Etihad.
That same reports states that Saudi heavyweights Al Ahli are keeping tabs on Walker’s situation and are ready to offer a jaw-dropping financial package for the 82-cap international.
Raphael Varane – Manchester United
Alongside continued speculation that Erik ten Hag could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer, it has been heavily reported that a number of Manchester United’s first-team superstars will be forced out the exit at the end of the season.
Although there might have been much excitement around the red half of Manchester back in August 2021 as Raphael Varane arrived for a fee of £34million, the former Real Madrid ace has struggled to find much stability among England’s elite.
Now missing all of United’s previous five appearances across all competitions and dealing with a string of injury issues this season, it is no surprise that the four-time Champions League winner is expected to be on the move this summer.
With Varane’s current contract at Old Trafford set to expire next month, ten Hag’s side have no interest in handing the 31-year-old a new deal.
Although Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray might have also been linked with a move from the French defender, it has been heavily suggested that several Saudi Pro clubs have identified Varane is a standout target for the summer.
