Hamburg defender Dennis Aogo said he is confident his side can pull together and help avoid relegation from the Bundesliga.
Hamburg sit third from the bottom of the table, in the relegation play-off position, and are just one-point clear of Hertha Berlin who are in 17th place and would automatically face the drop.
The club has not won a game since February 12, and face bottom side Kaiserslautern on Saturday knowing a victory is crucial for their survival hopes.
Aogo said the match was important, but with seven games left he is confident it will not decide their season.
“All the players have to understand that there is only one way to go,” Aogo said.
“If anybody doesn’t understand this you have to take the consequences. Even more now than when things are going well.”
“I hate it when people say that it is the match of matches or it is the most important one. It is definitely important. But we have seven important matches to go. We shouldn’t focus on Kaiserslautern too much.”
“We should make sure we develop something that lasts longer than that one game.”
