Martin Odegaard, currently at Real Sociedad on a two-season loan from Real Madrid, says the plan hasn’t changed and he is set to remain in San Sebastian until the summer of 2021.
The 21-year-old joined the ranks at Real Madrid in 2015, and played for their Castilla side for a while before moving to SC Heerenven on loan in January 2017. He spent the following season with Vitesse, and now his services have been lent to Sociedad. There were reports of the loan possibly being cut short ahead of the transfer window this winter, but it didn’t happen and Odegaard, speaking in an interview quoted by AS, said the initial plan hasn’t changed.
Looking ahead towards the game against his parent club in the Copa del Rey on Thursday, the Norwegian attacking midfielder expressed his admiration and gratitude towards Real head coach Zinedine Zidane, who was in charge at Castilla at the time of his arrival.
