While the 2024/25 campaign might have only got underway last month, some Premier League bosses from up and down to county already find some mounting pressure on their shoulders.

With England’s elite making their return this weekend following on from September’s international break, a handful of Premier League clubs are seeking a much-needed early boost.

Although we might only be three games into the new campaign, we have taken a look at the three Premier League bosses that are already fighting to keep hold of their respective jobs.

Erik ten Hag – Manchester United

While Manchester United might have shockingly made the decision to stick with Erik ten Hag over the summer, the former Ajax boss already has a huge amount of pressure on his shoulders at Old Trafford.

Although the Red Devils might have got their hands on a 13th FA Cup crown back on May 25th as they secured a sensational 2-1 victory against bitter local rivals Manchester City at Wembley, United broke a string of unwanted records last season.

Eventually limping their way to an eighth-place finish and still a million miles away from mounting any kind of title charge, ten Hag’s side have once again shown a string of glaring issues this time around.

Heading into September’s international break with an infamous 3-0 drumming at home against historic arch-rivals Liverpool, the Dutch tactician has seen his squad lose two of their opening three Premier League appearances.

Marking their return from the fortnight interval scrapping it out in the bottom-half of the table and facing a huge uphill battle in the race to book a lucrative Champions League return, there are large sections of the Old Trafford support that are still desperate for a change in the dugout.

Sean Dyche – Everton

While Everton might have mounted a late flurry last season as they managed to keep hold of their Premier League status, the Blues have opened the new campaign in the midst of a public nightmare.

Hit with two separate points deductions last year and with continued speculation that even more sanctions could be looming on the horizon, Sean Dyche’s camp have come under a huge amount of scrutiny over the past month.

Getting the new campaign underway with a woeful performance at Goodison Park as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Brighton on August 17th, Everton have lost all of their opening three Premier League appearances and mark their return from September’s international break sat rock-bottom of the table.

Heading into the fortnight interval with an infamous last-gasp collapse on home soil as they eventually fell to a 3-2 loss in the blue half of Merseyside, the former Burnley boss finds the pressure on his position at a boiling point.

Showing a string of glaring defensive issues and losing their first three top-flight showdowns by an aggregate score of 10-1, Dyche’s ultra-pragmatic approach has failed to connect with large spells of the Goodison fanbase and many are hoping for a potential of ex-manager David Moyes.

Russell Martin – Southampton

Although Southampton might have secured an immediate Premier League return last season as they edged out Leeds in the Championship play-off final back on May 26th, the Saints have drastically struggled to deal with a huge step up in class.

Heading into September’s International break with a routine 3-1 defeat away at Brentford, there has been recent speculation that Russell Martin could already be fighting to keep his job at St. Mary’s.

One of just two clubs alongside Everton that are yet to put a single point on the board since making their Premier League return, the former Swansea boss finds his downbeat squad pencilled in as a landslide relegation candidate this season.

Really breaking the bank over the summer as they recruited the likes of England international Aaron Ramsdale in a deal worth £25million, Martin is more than aware that top-flight safety is his only objective this season.

With suggestions during the fortnight break that Southampton’s hierarchy are adamant that Martin’s adopts a new style of play in an attempt to grind out results after a poor start to the campaign, the Brighton-born tactician will be concerned by the early pressure that appears to be on his shoulders.
