The pressure is on Chelsea – Samuel

(GSM) – Walter Samuel is confident Internazionale can prevail against Chelsea in the Champions League.

Inter head to Stamford Bridge with a 2-1 lead out of the first leg. They know that Chelsea must score to book their passage into the quarter-finals, forcing them out of their shell.

Samuel insists the Nerazzurri will not play ultra-defensive but admits Jose Mourinho’s men will need to be at the top of their game in order to progress to the next round.

“For us, this match is like the final of the Champions League,” the Argentina international told skysports.com.

“Inter will not play ultra-defensive, though, at Stamford Bridge. That would be a mistake because to offer Chelsea the ball is to practically kiss goodbye to our future in Europe.

“The pressure is on Chelsea because they need goals and they will have to take risks at home.”

Samuel is up for a tough test against the Blues but believes the Italians have reason to be optimistic ahead of their trip to London.

“I think it will be a very hard and intense match at Stamford Bridge, but that is normal,” he added.

“In the San Siro we showed what we can do and now we have to find that level again.

“To stop men like Drogba will not be easy, but in training we have worked hard on that and on Chelsea’s other key men.

“If Chelsea want to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League they will need to be at 150 per cent because Inter have no intention of giving them any hope.”
