According to David Ornstein and James Pearce of The Athletic, Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has rejected a formal offer from an unnamed Saudi club. As things stand, he remains focused on his current team and has no desire to move, and for the time being, manager Jurgen Klopp is forging his plans of the 2023/24 season with the experienced Spaniard in his ranks.
It remains, however, to be seen if an improved offer were it to arrive at some point, proves significant enough to test Thiago’s resolve.
As for Liverpool, they are believed to be fine with the idea of the 32-year-old seeing out his contract and leaving as a free agent next summer.
Thiago came through the youth ranks at Barcelona and played two years for their senior side, before moving to Bayern Munich in 2013. Seven years later, with seven Bundesliga medals and the 2020 Champions League one in his bag, he made his way to Anfield, where frequent injuries have marred his contribution so far.
