Thiago Maia wants Brazil return

ESPN Brazil is reporting that Lille hotshot Thiago Maia is hoping to return to Brazil in January.

The 20-year-old became the club’s record signing when he arrived in a €14 million deal from Santos, but he hasn’t had the best of starts to his career in Europe.

While Lille have largely struggled in the opening exchanges, Thiago Maia has failed to adapt to life in France, and he now wants out.

Namely, the central midfielder hopes to return to Brazil on loan until the end of the season, with Flamengo reportedly interested.

Maia made nine Ligue 1 appearances for Lille this term, starting six of those games, but he has failed to impress his new employers.
