PSG midfielder Thiago Motta appears to be nearing a switch to Atletico Madrid, AS has revealed.
The Italy international arrived in Madrid with his agent Alessandro Canovi to try and negotiate a deal that would see him move to Vicente Calderon.
Atletico coach Diego Simeone believes Motta’s quality and experience would prove a major asset for los Colchoneros and he is eager to recruit the midfielder at the earliest opportunity.
And seeing that the 32-year-old has just another year left on his deal at Parc des Princes, chances are the La Liga side will succeed in agreeing a transfer fee with his employers.
Thiago Motta has also been linked with a return to Inter Milan, but Atletico have clearly emerged as the favourites for his signature.
The experienced midfielder already has plenty of La Liga experience, having made a total of 96 league appearances for Barcelona, while also enjoying a short spell with los Colchoneros before moving to Italian Serie A.
