Thiago Motta seals PSG move
Brazilian midfielder Thiago Motta has completed his switch from Inter to Paris Saint-Germain, the Italian club have confirmed.
The 29-year-old had less than six months left on his deal at Giuseppe Meazza and he expressed his desire to leave after it became clear that he would not be able to reach an agreement with club chiefs over a new deal.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain moved swiftly and managed to sign the experienced midfielder on transfer deadline day.
Inter announced the transfer on their official website, but did not disclose the cost of the transfer or the length of the contract.
Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, announced that the player would be presented at Parc des Princes on Wednesday.
Motta amassed the total of 83 appearances for the Neroazzurri, scoring 12 goals in the process, while he won six major titles during his time at Inter.
Manchester City sign David Pizarro
Manchester City have captured midfielder David Pizarro on loan from Roma, the Etihad outfit have revealed.
The Citizens boss Roberto Mancini was looking to add another central midfielder to the squad and he achieved quite a coup by signing Pizarro.
The deal was announced on club’s official website and it was revealed the Chilean had joined City on loan until the rest of the season.
Mancini is well aware of the player’s qualities, having coached him at Inter Milan some five years ago.
Pizarro left Inter from Roma soon after winning the Serie A title under Mancini, and he quickly became a key player for the Giallorossi.
However, plagued by numerous injuries, the Chilean lost his starting berth this season and will see a move to Eastlands as an opportunity to kick-start his career.
The 32-year-old started just five Serie A games this season, while he also made two substitute appearances.
Porto wrap up double swoop
Porto produced quite a coup on transfer deadline day by signing striker Marc Janko from Twente and midfielder Lucho Gonzalez from Marseille.
The Dragons were on the lookout for a new centre forward from the very start to the season and they have now completed the signing of Marc Janko from Twente.
The Austrian forward, who was paid €3 million, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Dragons, with €20 million release clause inserted in his contract.
The 28-year-old might look as a controversial choice, although he did prove his goalscoring abilities while at Twente.
Janko scored 24 Eredivisie goals in 45 games after making a switch from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.
The Portuguese champions quickly managed to find a replacement for midfielder Fredy Guarin, who was loaned to Inter, having signed their former player Lucho Gonzalez from Marseille.
The Argentine returns to Dragao on a free transfer after failing to prove his worth at Velodrome, following an €18 million move from Porto.
Both deals were announced on club’s official website, with the two players expected to give the team additional boost in their quest for honours in the second part of the season.
