Italian midfielder Thiago Motta will be offered a new deal at Parc des Princes, according to L’Equipe.
The 34-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season, but the Saints plan to offer him a contract extension.
Head coach Unai Emery holds the Italian in high regard and he has advised the club chiefs to extend Motta’s deal for another year.
The former Italy international is still an important member of the side at Parc des Princes, having started 21 Ligue 1 fixtures and another 4 Champions League games this season.
Even though the competition for places in midfield is quite fierce, Motta has been able to secure regular playing time, with his advanced age not proving a major issue.
Considering that the player has no intention to leave the Saints just yet, chances are that he will remain at PSG beyond the current season.
