(GSM) – Celtic midfielder Thomas Rogne has ended his first season at club due to the injury jinx.

The young Norwegian centre-back returned after six weeks out of action with a hamstring injury for the weekend clash with Dundee United at Tannadice. However, in a nightmare turn of events, Rogne broke down again just half an hour into the Hoops’ impressive 2-0 win with the identical problem.

The 19-year-old confirmed he faces another six weeks out and, obviously, will miss the final three matches against Motherwell, Rangers and Hearts.

“I knew after a quarter of the game. It was quite all right for a while but it got worse and eventually I realised I could not go on,” Rogne said.

“It ‘ll be roughly the same. It’s boring, but there is no reason to feel down.

“I had played 35 minutes that went pretty well in a very important victory,” he concluded.

“I’ve had more matches than I thought I would get. The manager shows faith in me and that it is great for me,” 19 year midfielder said about Manager Lennon.

Caretaker boss Neil Lennon is disappointed to lose the kid, having made it clear he feels Rogne could emerge as key performer for the club in years ahead.

“I like Rogne a lot. He is composed. He is only 19 but he is a man,” Lennon said.
