(GSM) – Juventus midfielder Tiago Mendes, who is on loan at Atletico Madrid, has re-iterated his desire to make his move to the Spanish club permanent.
The former Benfica and Chelsea has struggled to make an impact in Serie A following his £11 million move from Olympique Lyon in 2007, and was allowed to leave on loan for Atletico in January.
The move to Vicente Calderon appears to have rejuvenated his career and he would now like to remain in Spain beyond the end of the season.
“I don’t want to go back to Italy,” he told Cadena Ser.
“However, I still have two years left on my contract with Juventus and I can’t decide on what will happen. Atletico Madrid is a special club. The fans have great passion and us players feel it.”
