Spanish daily newspaper Marca is reporting that Premier League giants Chelsea are set to announce the signing of Portuguese midfielder Tiago Mendes from Atletico Madrid.
The highly rated footballer has become a free agent after refusing the latest contract offer from Vicente Calderon and he has reportedly agreed a Bosman deal with former club Chelsea.
The 33 year old had previously spent one season at Stamford Bridge, making 34 Premier League appearances and scoring 4 goals.
Tiago has since represented Lyon, Juventus and Atletico Madrid, spending last four and a half seasons at Vicente Calderon.
The former Portugal international has made a total of 118 La Liga outings for los Colchoneros, scoring 10 goals, and he played an important role as Atletico won the league title last term.
Tiago is now set to get reunited with Jose Mourinho, the man who brought him to Stamford Bridge in the first place.
