Tielemans confirms desire to leave Monaco

“The opportunities for me to continue in Monaco are minimal, a transfer will be the best solution”.

Those are the words of Youri Tielemans, who has all but confirmed that he is planning on leaving French side Monaco during the upcoming summer transfer window. Tielemans spent the second half of the season on loan with Premier League side Leicester City, where he was able to really shine and help guide the Foxes to a strong end to the campaign. Leicester will almost certainly be one of the clubs interested in signing him on a permanent basis, but they won’t be alone.

A number of top European sides are going to be sniffing around in an attempt to secure his services, as you’d expect. Leicester certainly seem to possess the resources necessary to make a genuine move for him, but a lot of it will depend on timing – in addition to who else is interested.
