Daily Mirror has learned that AC Milan are weighing up a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul.
With Christian Abbiati’s deal set to expire in June, the Rossoneri are in the market for a new number one.
They have been recently linked with former Inter shot-stopper Julio Cesar, but it appears the Brazilian is not keen on joining Inter’s arch rivals.
Milan have, therefore, turned their attention to Newcastle keeper Tim Krul, who could be a decent long-term replacement for Abbiati.
The 25-year-old has a long-term contract at St James’ Park and the Magpies are not prepared to negotiate a sale, but the Rossoneri are prepared to pull all the stops to sign the Netherlands international.
Milan have rejuvenated their squad this season and with all the areas of the team well covered, signing a new number one is going to be the priority in the summer transfer window.
