Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Tim Sherwood has done his chances of getting the job on permanent basis no harm with a 3-2 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s.
Even though many doubted Spurs would get anything from the game having seen what looked like a very attack-minded starting line-up, the White Hart Lane outfit ended up recording a very important away win after coming from a goal down.
This has seen Tim Sherwood become the favourite to take over the job on permanent basis, with the former Spurs midfielder priced at 5/4 to be next permanent boss.
Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has seen odds on him slashed to 5/1 after he admitted his interest in taking over the reigns at the Lane.
Club legend Glenn Hoddle is available at 6/1, whereas Frank de Boer, Fabio Capello and Michael Laudrup also appear to be in the mix.
Tottenham board will have to make a decision in the coming days as Spurs have some very important games coming up, although they could wait and see how the team will fare during the festive schedule before making a ruling.
And with home games against West Brom and Stoke next, it appears Tim Sherwood has a good chance to extend his stay in North London despite revealing he was an Arsenal fan.
