Napoli are considering a bid for former Hoffenheim goalkeeper Tim Wiese, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Azzurri are desperately short of cover for number one Pepe Reina now that his back-up Rafael has been ruled out for the season through a knee ligament injury.
As a result, they could again enter the free agent market, having earlier signed Anthony Reveillere as a cover for Camilo Zuniga and Giandomenico Mesto.
Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Napoli are seriously thinking about making an offer to German goalkeeper Tim Wiese.
The former Germany international has been a free agent since leaving Hoffenheim last month, with the two sides having ended the contract by mutual consent.
Wiese had previously spent almost a year out of the senior side and last played for the club in January 2013.
Napoli host Genoa in the final match of the round on Monday and the Azzurri are 2/7 to emerge victorious.
