Newcastle United midfielder Check Tiote has admitted that he is keen to leave the North East club when the transfer window reopens, according to the Mirror.
The Ivory Coast international has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal, and he has hinted that the Emirates Stadium would be his preferred destination while Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow are also interested.
Tiote moved to St James’ Park from Twente in the summer of 2010, and has since gone on to make one hundred and twenty appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring his one and only goal in a dramatic 4-4 draw with Arsenal in February 2011.
He has forty-eight caps for his country – three of which came at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil where the Elephants crashed out at the group stages.
Newcastle lost to Stoke City on Monday evening – a result which leaves them in nineteenth place ahead of Saturday’s trip to Swansea City.
