According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Jean-Clair Todibo of Barcelona is set to move to Schalke 04 this month. The deal would be in the form of a loan for the rest of the season, without an option for the Bundesliga side to make the transfer permanent afterwards. The young defender hasn’t had much chance to prove himself at Camp Nou since arriving from Toulouse a year ago, being behind the likes of Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti in the pecking order, but the Catalan club appear to still have hope for his future.
Di Marzio confirms the interest of AC Milan in Todibo’s services, but the Rossoneri are believed to be only keen on a permanent deal, which reduces their chances of reaching an agreement with Barcelona significantly. Further more, the player himself has already made his decision – to move to Gelsenkirchen, where he would team up with another of Blaugrana’s loanees, 19-year-old left-back Juan Miranda.
