Denmark manager Morten Olsen will have to do without striker Jon Dahl Tomasson for the upcoming World Cup qualifier with Malta.
This was announced by the coach at a press conference on Friday.
Tomasson is currently dealing with a knee injury, that had already left him out of Feyenoord’s UEFA Cup clash with Kalmar FF and a league game against NEC Nijmegen.
The player hoped to return in time for the qualifier, but hasn’t recovered fast enough: “I am actually in good shape at the moment, and that doesn’t make it any less annoying that I have to give up,” he said.
Fortunately for the attacker, he misses only one World Cup qualifier as Denmark won’t play another official game until March.
