Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni has revealed he would welcome a move to Italian club Napoli.

The 32-year-old is out of favour with the Bundesliga giants and is reportedly a target for both AC Milan and Napoli in the January transfer window.

The Italy international has slipped down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena, despite bagging 38 goals in 56 league games, and has to compete for a first-team place with fellow strikers Miroslav Klose, Ivica Olic and Mario Gomez.

“Napoli is an important club and they have great fans,” Napoli told Italian radio station Kiss Kiss.

“Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis has big ideas so we shall see what happens. It’s still early days.”

Toni, who recovered from an Achilles tendon injury in September, admitted he would relish the chance to play alongside current Napoli forwards Fabio Quagliarella and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

“Quagliarella and Lavezzi are two great strikers,” he added.

“Together with them I would feel great and we would make up a very good attacking trio.”
