Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni could face disciplinary action after it was reported by the media that the Italy international drove home at half time after being substituted in their Bundesliga match against Schalke 04 on Saturday, coach Louis van Gaal said.
“This is not acceptable. We have registered this and will talk about it internally,” Van Gaal told Sky Television at the end of the match.
“If this happened then that is not good. We have to talk about this.”
Bayern drew 1-1 at home to Schalke, dropping to eighth in the league after yet another lacklustre performance, while Schalke missed out the opportunity to go second.
Dutchman Arjen Robben came on for Toni at the start of the second half.
The Italian striker has been battling for a starting spot after missing the early part of the season due to a heel injury.
