According to Florian Plettenberg, four top clubs in the Premier League are all interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon: Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Swedish striker of Hungarian origin continues to impress for Sporting. Since the start of the season, he’s scored 14 goals in as many matches in all competitions, providing four assists to boot. Having only joined last year, the 26-year-old is under contract with the Portuguese club until the summer of 2028, and his services won’t come cheap, though it is believed that the whole amount of €100 million set in the release clause in the contract won’t have to be paid. Somewhere between €60 and 70 million should suffice come next summer; he isn’t expected to move in January.
Manchester City, who currently lead the Premier League title race again, do not have a suitable replacement for Erling Haaland since the departure of Julian Alvarez and face obvious problems should the Norwegian sensation become unavailable at any point. Second-place Liverpool appear to be preparing for a future without Mohamed Salah and will be looking to boost their attacking ranks with quality players. Arsenal and Chelsea are believed to be looking for a central attacker for a while now.
