Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all said to be on alert after Spanish club Valencia admitted they are ready to listen to offers for star striker David Villa according to the Daily Mail.
Villa, 26, has caught the eye of many admirers over the past few seasons and is undoubtedly one of Spain’s best players. Villa is currently with the Spanish squad in preparation for the 2008 European Championships in Austria/Switzerland.
The prolific striker will hope to replicate Fernando Torres’ form if he arrives in England after an impressive scoring record in Spain. Villa has represented the Spanish national side 31 times, scoring 14.
Valencia were believed to have wanted as much as £30 million for the star striker, however the Spanish club will spark a transfer frenzy for the Spaniard after putting David Villa essentially up for sale at a cut-price of £17 million.
Many top European clubs are said to have expressed interest in the striker, however it was Villa himself who reportedly admitted he had ambitions of playing in England, especially for Arsenal.
