(GSM) – There were no big surprises in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday as the entire top three, PSV, Ajax and Twente, won their games.
PSV hosted NEC in a provincial derby and although John Goossens put the visitors ahead on 37 minutes, PSV reacted well in the second half with Danny Koevermans equalising right after the break.
Ibrahim Afellay made it 2-1 shortly after the hour and Ola Toivonen, the in-form Swedish striker, added a third in the 69th minute.
Ajax needed two spot kicks to make a difference in their home match with Willem II. Luis Suarez converted the first on 33 minutes and the Uruguayan World Cup star did so again nine minutes after the break.
Twente played away to VVV and took the lead through Costa Rican Bryan Ruiz in the 29th minute. Patrick Paauwe leveled from the spot in the 42nd but Roberto Rosales restored Twente’s advantage ten minutes after the hour.
AZ of Alkmaar continue to struggle in the Eredivisie, and remain without a single win after losing 1-2 to Roda JC. Laurent Delorge and Willem Janssen scored for the visiting side, and only Rasmus Elm found the target for the hosts.
