Serie A side Torino have moved to announce the signing of Brazilian defender Lyanco from Sao Paulo.
“Torino Football Club is delighted to announce that it has acquired Lyanco outright from San Paolo, with effect from 1 July 2017.
“Lyanco was born on 1st February 1997 in Vitoria, Brazil. He grew up playing football in the youth ranks of Botafogo, making his debut in the Brazilian championship in the shirt of Sao Paulo, in which he has racked up 21 caps and one goal.
“He has also 9 appearances for the Brazilian U20 side and in January was put on display in the South American U20 championships played in Ecuador.”
Granata eventually managed to win the chase for the player’s signature, who was also on the radar of Juventus and Atletico Madrid, among other clubs.
Even though he will officially become a Torino player on 1st July, Lyanco is expected to immediately begin training with his new club.
The central defender, who made three appearances for the Serbia Under-19 side, before switching his allegiance to Brazil, has been earning rave reviews for his performances this season.
Lyanco also impressed playing for Brazil at the Under-20 South American Championship in Ecuador, and he clearly did enough to secure a move to Italian Serie A.
The highly rated footballer is seen as a great long-term successor to veteran defender Emiliano Moretti, who will turn 36 in June this year.
