Torino defender on Watford radar

Premier League outfit Watford are looking for defensive reinforcement and are believed to be eyeing Swedish international Pontus Jansson, according to various reports.

The 25-year-old defender is currently enjoying quite a spell at Leeds.

Having arrived on loan from Serie A side Torino earlier in 2016, Pontus Jansson has been putting in a series of commanding displays which have quickly made him a fan favourite.

Premier League club Watford have been alerted to the Swedish international’s performances at Elland Road, according to the Expressen, and are willing to make a pounce for the player once the transfer window reopens in January.

Jansson has already expressed his desire to turn his loan move permanent, but could be lured by the bright lights of the Premier League.

Watford are desperate to bring fresh blood to their backline, whose vulnerability was once again on display at the weekend with Liverpool putting 6 goals past the Walter Mazzari’s men.
