Torino keen on Panucci

Torino director of sport Rino Foschi admits that they are interested in signing Roma want-away defender Christian Panucci.

“Who would not like a player like Panucci?” said Foschi. “He is a player of great quality and of great worth.”

“I delegate everything to Foschi,” explained Torino President Urbano Cairo. “We have contracted him because it’s really up to him to manage these situations. I let him work with confidence.”

The Roma veteran revealed last night that he wants to leave the Giallorossi as soon as possible, as he does not feel that coach Luciano Spalletti respect him.

“I have made my decision, I’m leaving Roma, as Spalletti does not respect me,” said Panucci on Sky Italia.

“I spent eight splendid years in Rome and I have not yet contacted any other club.”

“Unfortunately, this is the rapport between Christian and the Coach,” said Panucci’s agent, Oscar Damiani.

“I will try to find him a new club and at least a solution to end the season. If he does have to go, I will have to work to find an alternative.

“Roma have to be willing to release him, though, then at the end of the season he will be free to make his decisions.”
