Napoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli is a January transfer target for Torino, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.
The 26-year-old centre-back joined Napoli during the summer transfer window but the Italian international has failed to make his mark on the Partenopei due to injuries and a change of tactical choices from Maurizio Sarri.
Frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities, Lorenzo Tonelli is eyeing a January move away from Sao Paolo and Torino manager Sinisa Mihajlovic is reportedly prepared to offer him an escape route.
The Granata are keen to make an offer worth €5 million for the defender, but Napoli are looking to recoup the good part of the €10 million fee they paid for the player in the summer and a loan deal looks most likely to happen during winter.
Tonelli spent six years playing for Empoli prior his summer move to Napoli.
He made 163 Serie A appearances for his previous club, getting his name on the score sheet on 14 occasions.
