The agent of Udinese midfielder Gabriel Torje has revealed that his client will spent next season on loan at Granada.
The talented midfielder arrived to Friuli last summer as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, but, following some promising showings at the start of the season, the Romanian has largely struggled to fulfill his potential.
The attacking midfielder scored just 2 goals in 21 Serie A games, which was not enough to convince the club chiefs he has what it takes to help the team next season.
As a result, the Romanian international is now set to be farmed out on loan to La Liga side Granada.
“It’ll be better for him, as Granada play with a 4-2-3-1 or even a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3,” agent Cristian Opria told Romanian TV station Digisport.
“Granada will reinforce the squad with five or six new players, so it’ll be perfect. I think in a year Torje will be able to prove his quality.”
Granada act as a feeder club for Udinese and the Zebrette hope one Torje will be ready to meet the demands of Italian Serie A after one season at Estadio Nuevo Las Carmenes.
The newly promoted side managed to avoid a straight return to Segunda by a single point last season.
