Toronto FC have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Auro Alvaro da Cruz Junior from Sao Paulo, it has been revealed.
The MLS side announced the news via their Twitter account, as the 22-year-old joined on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
This will be Auro’s first international adventure, having spent much of his early career on various loan spells in Brazil.
The right-sided defender has so far made 28 Serie A appearances for Sao Paulo, and he was capped by Brazil at Under-17 and Under-20 levels.
Auro’s arrival will allow Nicolas Hasler to move into the middle of the park, after being used as right-back for much of the second part of last season.
