Torreira heading to Torino?

According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira could be on his way to Torino in the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old midfielder is currently out on loan with Atletico Madrid, but instead of talks regarding a permanent switch to the Spanish club, it seems as if he could be tempted by a return to Italy.

Prior to making his way over to the Emirates, Torreira played in Italy for years with Pescara and Sampdoria. Of course, that was a long time ago and this could be nothing more than speculation, but one thing that does seem particularly likely is the idea that Torreira won’t be returning to play for Arsenal anytime soon.

The Gunners have a stacked squad, which is one of the reasons he left on loan in the first place, and it seems as if the ship has sailed for him – which is a shame given the potential he once showed in England.
