Lucas Torreira reportedly has no plans to leave Arsenal amid interest from AC Milan.
Milan’s intention to bring the former Sampdoria player back to Italy have been reported before, and it appears that it’s a matter of some priority for the Rossoneri, with former Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis looking to reconnect Torreira with his former boss Marco Giampaolo, who has replaced Gennaro Gattuso as the Milan head coach.
It was also reported that the Uruguay international was keen on the idea, having struggled to adapt to the weather in England as well as to establish proper communication in English. However, Sam Dean of The Telegraph claims sources close to the player have described these claims as “nonsense” and that stories of him trying to engineer a move away from the Gunners were “wildly exaggerated”.
A reunion with Giampaolo would hold some appeal for the defensive midfielder, but he is far from being desperate to leave the Emirates at the moment.
