Torreira wants Atletico Madrid switch

According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Lucas Torreira is interested in a move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.

With Arsenal being keen on an approach for Thomas Partey, it makes sense for the two clubs to come to some kind of arrangement on a swap deal. Alas, we’re talking about Atletico here, who are known for being quite stubborn when it comes to the transfer market.

Torreira is still viewed as a pretty popular figure at the Emirates but he just hasn’t been able to break his way into the first team on a consistent basis as of late. Mikel Arteta has a clear vision for what he wants his team to look like and at this moment in time, Torreira isn’t going to be part of those plans.

Partey to Arsenal has seemed like a foregone conclusion for longer than we care to remember, and this is the perfect excuse for both clubs to get it over the finish line.
