Torres and Reina set for Liverpool exit

Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina are preparing to leave Liverpool, with the secret clauses in their contracts giving them the perfect escape route.

The Spanish duo made Liverpool chiefs insert escape clauses into their contracts after they agreed to stay at Anfield in the summer, following Rafa Benitez’s departure.

Nevertheless, after finding out the new club owner John Henry doesn’t plan to invest significant funds into rebuilding the team, the Spanish internationals want out.

Neither Torres nor Reina are too happy with the direction in which the club seem to be going under Roy Hodgson, and they are prepared to call it quits on their Liverpool career, which will alert the potential suitors.

Manchester City are just one of the clubs hoping to sign Fernando Torres, while Manchester United and Arsenal are both keen on Reina.
