Torres finally set for Blues exit?

The Metro understands that Chelsea could finally be set to part company with Fernando Torres, with the Blues lining up a swap deal for Roma striker Mattia Destro.

Torres has been at Stamford Bridge for the past three and a half years, but has struggled to recreate the form he showed during his time at Liverpool.

The 30 year old has made one hundred and seventy-two appearances for the London club, scoring forty-five goals and clinching medals in the FA Cup, Europa League and Champions League.

Wolfsburg and Inter Milan have also registered interest in the Spain international, who has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Jose Mourinho.

Should the proposed switch with Destro materialise, it would see Torres reunited with former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole, who moved to the Serie A side on a free transfer earlier in the summer.

Destro has scored twenty-four goals in forty-nine appearances for Roma, and has been capped five times for Italy.
