Torres following in Owen’s footsteps?

Liverpool have been dealt a blow by the fact that Fernando Torres will be absent for two or three weeks because of a hamstring problem.

A club spokesman said, “Fernando has a strain in his right hamstring and will be out of action for between two and three weeks.”

He played the full game against Marseille on Wednesday but has only just returned after missing five weeks with the same injury.

A fast, goalscoring Liverpool striker who is plagued by hamstring injuries. I’m sure I’ve seen that before!

Let’s hope that Torres does not become as susceptible to this as Michael Owen did before him.
