(GSM) – Fernando Torres has claimed that he will be at his best for the current season following an injury-plagued last 12 months.
The Liverpool star, who underwent two knee operations in the first four months of the year, has struggled with injuries in 2010 with his latest being an adductor problem in July’s World Cup final.
Torres, who scored his first goal of the season in last weekend’s win over West Bromwich Albion, continued his return to form with two goals for Spain in Friday’s victory over Liechtenstein
Liverpool’s head of sports science Peter Brukner has given Torres a special fitness programme in a bid to help him get back to his best and the striker believes he is well on the road to recovery.
“The recuperation is perfect and we have waited our time,” Torres told El Pais.
“I am still not 100 per cent, but the people will soon see the best Torres.
“Each time I am recuperating sensations and I hope to obtain success with Liverpool this season.”
