According to a recent report from BBC Sport, Valencia star Ferran Torres is eager to complete his proposed move to Premier League giants Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola is quite clearly a big admirer of Torres’ work, to the point where he is being actively viewed as a valid long-term replacement for Leroy Sane.
Valencia are open to the idea of selling him this summer, but only if they receive an offer of at least £40 million.
City haven’t exactly been shy in the past when it comes to strengthening in the transfer window, and they aren’t about to start now. They’ll be more determined than ever to get out there and add to their ranks, especially in the wake of Liverpool’s dominant Premier League campaign.
Whether or not Torres will slot straight into the first team, though, is a question that needs to be asked. He’s only 20 years old, and the competition is going to be tough.
