Cenk Tosun will remain at Goodison Park and fight for a place in the Everton starting XI next season, according to Sky Sports.
The striker revealed that he wanted to go out on loan and had informed the club of his wish. He felt he needed more game-time do improve and come back stronger, but the reply that came from the club was that his services were needed.
The 27-year-old Turkey international, who recently scored two goals in his country’s 4-0 win over Moldova, has been struggling to nail down a place in the team since his arrival to Everton for €30 million in January 2018. This season, he has only scored three goals in 27 games for the Toffees, and with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin progressing nicely, he faces an uphill task.
He was linked with Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town in this winter, but it appears he had never contemplated a permanent move away.
“I have still a lot to do in the Premier League. I still have a three-and-a-half-year contract with Everton”, he told Turkish website Sabah.
