Competition: Europa League
Market: Tottenham to win against Qarabakh
Odds: 4/11 @ Bet 365

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur host Azerbaijan FK Qarabakh in the Europa League on Thursday night, and are big favourites to start their European campaign off with a win. Coming off the back of a first domestic victory, Spurs are in good shape to get a result against the minnows of the competition, but Qarabakh are no slouches themselves given their respective form.

The visitors are currently top of their domestic league after four games, and are still unbeaten for their troubles too. Qarabakh have already pulled off some giant killings to make it this far, beating Young Boys in the previous round without conceding a goal, and the away outfit are currently on a run of four consecutive wins in all competitions with no reply.

Tottenham have been slowly gaining momentum. The Londoners had drawn three league games on the bounce, but have since followed up their run of stalemates with a win to nil against Sunderland most recently. Spurs have not been convincing in their performances at all this season, but they have still proven hard to beat. And on home soil, Qarabakh are sure to have a difficult evening at White Hart Lane.

Last season, the Premier League counterparts struggled at times in the Europa League, with manager Mauricio Pochettino resting key players which had a negative effect on performances. It’s likely he will do a similar thing this time round, but underperforming first-teamers could well be given more game time to find their feet again. This could mean striker Harry Kane (2014/15: 34 appearances, 21 goals) starts against Qarabakh in order to get his first goal of the season.
