Competition: Europa League
Market: Tottenham to win against AS Monaco
Odds: 5/2 @ William Hill

French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco host in-form Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League on Thursday night, and given the poor home form of the principality, Spurs could well earn an impressive away win to keep their momentum going under Mauricio Pochettino this season.

Monaco have won two and drawn one of their last four games, but have suffered two defeats in five outings too. The French side have been inconsistent this season, and surprisingly their form has been considerably worse in their own backyard. Monaco have picked up just one point from a possible nine at the Stade Louis II this season, and they fell short in their opening Europa League clash against Anderlecht.

Opponents Tottenham are in great shape to take advantage of their slump in form. The Premier League side won their opening game in the Europa League against whipping boys Qarabag FK, and are coming off the back of four wins in their last five games. Unbeaten in six Premier League games, Tottenham are in dream form ahead of a tricky European encounter. Pochettino will have a conundrum to make about what squad to put out.

Despite Monaco’s poor home form, the French Ligue 1 side aren’t to be underestimated. Tottenham could fall short if they’re not at their best this week, but their manager is desperate for a cup run this season. Suffering just two defeats in all competitions this season – to Manchester United and Arsenal – Tottenham look a new side. They have so far managed to balance Europe and domestic duties, and are finally getting goals from striker Harry Kane.
