Hugo Lloris is viewed as a future superstar goalkeeper at only 21 years of age. The French goalkeeper has impressed for Nice in the past two years and has recently attracted the interest of AC Milan and Tottenham. However he chose to join Olympique Lyonnais.
L’Equipe reports that “nothing has been signed yet” but Lloris and Lyon are confident that a deal could be struck next week. The French football magazine reports that a transfer fee of about 10 million euros will be required to take the French goalkeeper to the French champions, but the price is the last thing Lyon will want to look at after they will be relieved to have beaten English and Italian underachievers to the signature of Lloris.
Hugo Lloris will be Gregory Coupet’s replacement after the veteran goalkeeper ended his stay with the French champions in order to look for another challenge before retiring. Rumour has it that he could well join Tottenham who look to replace Radek Cerny who has returned to his parent club, Slavia Praga after a lengthy loan spell.
