Tottenham back in for Berahino

Tottenham Hotspur are readying a fresh £18m bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, according to the Mirror.

The North London club tried in vain to secure a deal for the twenty-two year old in the summer and are now ready to test the Baggies resolve ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

Spurs are on the verge of receiving £12m for winger Andros Townsend, who is set to seal a move to Newcastle United and that will help free up the funds as they look to bolster their attack.

Berahino has racked up one hundred appearances in all competitions for West Brom since breaking into their first team, scoring thirty-three goals while he has also had loan spells with Northampton Town, Brentford and Peterbrough United.

Internationally, he scored ten goals in eleven appearances for England’s U21s but is yet to make his debut for the senior side.
