Blackburn Rovers’ boss Paul Ince has announced yesterday that Aston Villa have had a bid for David Bentley rejected, according to BBC.
“We have had an offer from Aston Villa, but I do not want him to go,” said Ince.
“But he is injured and he will have a couple of days off and I hope to take him to Germany on Wednesday for our training trip.”
A report in The Daily Mail states that the offer was worth about £15 million, which comes just short of Blackburn’s evaluation of the former Arsenal winger. However Tottenham did have their offer accepted, according to the same report. The bid from Juande Ramos’ men is thought to be worth £11 million plus Paul Robinson.
Tottenham will fund the deal with the money made from Dimitar Berbatov’s proposed move to Old Trafford. According to yesterday’s reports, Manchester United have already agreed a fee of £28 million for the Bulgarian although nothing has yet been confirmed.
